Albertson’s is one of the largest supermarket chains in the United States with roughly 2,200 stores. The privately owned company is based out of Boise, Idaho. Near the end of last month, Albertson’s submitted two separate WARN notifications to the state of Louisiana. According to those notifications, Alberton’s will be closing two Louisiana stores sometime in September.

The Bossier City store is located at 3121 East Texas Street. According to the WARN notice, the store will close on September 9, 2017. The closure will impact a total of 76 employees. The Denham Springs store, which is located on 402 South Range Avenue, is expected to close on the same day. Its closure will impact 81 employees.

Other Albertson’s stores in Louisiana are expected to remain open at this time. Approximately a year ago, the last remaining K-Mart in the Bossier City area closed. It was located in the same strip mall as the Albertson’s, which will close in September.
