On April the 6th, Amazon announced its intention to add more than 5,000 new part-time employees to their Virtual Customer Service department. As one of the biggest retailers in the world, Amazon must keep their customer satisfaction level at the max. Thus far, they’ve managed to do just that by remaining innovative. The Virtual Customer Service scheme emphasizes the company’s decision to do things differently. The innovative scheme allows employees the flexibility to work from home. Virtual employees, who work at least 20 hours a week, will receive benefits, including access to the company’s Career Choice program that pays 95% of tuition courses for classes associated with in-demand fields.

The 5,000 is a step in the right direction for the company, which intends to hire more than 30,000 part-time roles over the course of the new years. Amazon also plans to hire 100,000 full-time jobs with full benefits in the United States over the next 18 months. Amazon also believes in giving back to the American military. The company already employs over 10,000 veterans and they’ve pleaded to bring aboard 25,000 more during the next 5 years. Part-time employment with Amazon provides the employee with full benefits, as long as they work more than 20 hours a week. Benefits include life, disability, dental, and vision insurance. Premiums are paid in full by Amazon. Funding for medical insurance is also available.
