On Thursday, it was announced that a 28-year-old man from Antelope had been sentenced to prison for selling counterfeit airbags. Vitaliy Fedorchuk was sentenced to one year and one day in prison. He will also be required to pay a $5,000 fine for his involvement in an international scheme to sell counterfeit airbags using eBay and other internet websites.

From June 23, 2014 to July 27, 2016, Fedorchuk sold airbag modules, covers and manufacturer emblems through his eBay store, redbarnautoparts. He falsely claimed that the auto parts were original equipment from major manufacturers, including Fiat, Honda, Nissan and Toyota. During the course of the scheme, Fedorchuk sold hundreds of counterfeit airbags and made more than $95,000 in profits.

He has been ordered to pay $1,334 in restitution to victims in the case.
