Avon was founded by David H. McConnell in 1886. The direct selling company sells beauty, household and personal care products. In 2013, it was estimated that the company had annual sales of ten billion dollars worldwide. On November 30, 2017, Avon filed a WARN notification with Ohio’s Office of Workforce Development.

According to that notification, New Avon LLC will be conducting employee separations at its Returns Processing Operation in Springdale, Ohio. The facility is located at 175 Progress Place. The facility will close entirely and the impacted employees will be laid off as a result. None of the affected employees have bumping rights nor are they represented by a union.

Employee separations are expected to begin on February 5, 2018 and continue through March 30, 2018. In total, 55 workers will be laid off. 34 of those employees served as returns processors. The full WARN notice can be viewed here.
