Earlier this week, Vivint Smart Home and Best Buy announced a new partnership that will make it easier for consumers to transform their home into a smart home. The strategic partnership is designed with the intention of simplifying the home automation process, while also making it easier for customers to manage their homes. Best Buy Smart Home powered by Vivint will be rolled out nationwide starting this summer. After the rollout is completed, customers will be able to visit one of the company’s 400 large-format stores to speak with a smart home expert. With the expert’s assistance, the consumer can design a smart home system, as well as sign up for professional installation and monitoring.

Consumers will be able to select from a wide assortment of smart home products from the leading producers, including Vivint and others. Smart thermostats, locks, cameras, light, and more will be available to customers. Consumers can simultaneously enroll in a service plan, which includes 24/7 professional monitoring, emergency repose, 30-day video storage, and always-on cellular connection. Those enrolled in a service plan can also take advantage of online and phone support and in-home service and equipment protection. A no-contract service plan is available.

Vivint’s smart home platform is compatible with the latest voice assistants, including Google Home and Echo. The combination allows consumers to make adjustments to their system with basic verbal commands. As Vivint Smart Home’s President, Alex Dunn, states, “At Vivint, our vision from the beginning has been to deliver smart home for the mass market”. The new partnership with Best Buy should give the company the ability to expand more rapidly. Vivint Smart Home, which now has more than 1 million customers, was named the number one smart home services provider in the United States by Strategy Analytics.

The partnership between Best Buy and Vivint should be a perfect match for company and consumer alike. Additional details can be found by visiting www.bestbuy.com/smarthomesecurity.
