This weekend will provide gamers with the first opportunity to experience Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’s multiplayer mode. Activision’s Call of Duty series has managed to maintain enormous popularity over the years largely in part to its multiplayer gameplay. On October the 14th, Activision started sending out beta access codes to PlayStation 4 owners, who preordered the game. The game’s official launch is slated for November the 4th, but gamers throughout the world will be able to experience the game’s multiplayer mode in the upcoming weeks. From October the 14th to Monday the 17th at 10am, PlayStation 4 owners will be able to enjoy the game’s multiplayer firsthand. They’ll gain access to new maps, new weaponry, and a wealth of multiplayer modes.
The first week will only be available to PlayStation 4 users, but Xbox One owners will not be left out in the cold. The second beta weekend will kick off on October the 21st and run through October the 24th. The second weekend will be open to PS4 and Xbox One users, so everyone will be able to join in on the fun. In April of 2015, it was announced that the Call of Duty series had sold more than 175 million copies with the total proceedings exceeding 10 billion dollars. The series has also inspired comic books, action figures, and card games. The combination has helped to generate additional profit for Activision, which merged with Vivendi Games in July of 2008 to form Activision Blizzard.
