On Friday, it was announced that a Dorchester woman had been sentenced for embezzling $172,551 from a customer while serving as a bank teller for the Mattapan Bank. 22-year-old J’Cynda Sales was sentenced to time served and five years of supervised release. The defendant has also been ordered to pay $172,551 in restitution and to forfeit $172,551.

Sales pleaded guilty to embezzlement by a bank employee in June of 2017. She admitted to making 48 unauthorized withdrawals from a customer’s bank account from November 2015 to May 2016. In total, Sales stole $172,551 from the bank customer. Again, J’Cynda Sales has been sentenced to time served and five years of supervised release.
