This week, the state of Tennessee received a WARN notification from Duracell. The notice was posted on September 7, 2017. According to that notification, Duracell will soon carry out a mass layoff in Bradley county. Duracell Inc. is an American manufacturing company, which is best known for its batteries. The company was previously owned by Procter & Gamble. It was acquired by Berkshire Hathaway in November of 2014.

In 2015, it was estimated that Duracell generated around $2 billion in revenue. The company, which is headquartered in Bethel, Connecticut, employs around 2,700 individuals. According to the WARN notification, the permanent layoff is expected to be effective on November 10, 2017. It will impact the company’s facility at 208 Copper Top Lane Cleveland, Tennessee 37312.

In total, 91 workers are expected to be displaced by the layoff. Just last month, Resolute Forest Products, Armstrong Flooring and Gannet Satellite Information Network all announced layoffs in Tennessee.
