Icahn Automotive Group LLC is one of the largest distributors of automotive parts in the United States. It is also a leading provider of total car care services. On August 21, 2017, Icahn announced it had made several major investments in the Detroit metro region.

Just recently, Icahn announced the acquisition of Precision Auto Care Inc., along with Precision Tune franchise locations in Detroit and Royal Oak. The firm has also acquired Phil Cavill’s Tire & Auto Service Center, which has been a staple in the community of Clawson for the past 34 years. The 10-bay shop will eventually be transformed into a full-service Pep Boys Service & Tire Center.

Simultaneously, Pep Boys has renovated its Detroit-area stores and expanded its parts and tire availability. They’ve also taken steps to add more high-quality products to its local stores. Pep Boys and the company’s Auto Plus wholesale parts distribution arm provide consumers with access to a full line of premium products.

During the past weekend, Pep Boys took part in the Woodward Dream Cruise to celebrate its Detroit growth plan. The investments in Detroit are a part of a larger strategy put in place by Icahn Automotive to grow its national network and provide consumers with access to a wider assortment of premium products and tires.
