Veterans around the world are preparing for the National Veterans Wheelchair Games. This week, Invacare Corporation (NYSE: IVC) confirmed that they would be supporting the event as the National Host Sponsor. The company has remained one of the leading sponsors of the NVWG since it was launched 37 years ago. The NVWG, which includes basketball, track, table tennis, and handcycling, will run from July 17 to July the 22. The event is taking place in the city of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Senior Vice President and General Manager of Invacare North America, Dean Childers, admitted the company was proud show their support for the nation’s veterans. “The pure talent, tenacity and devotion to the sport demonstrated by these veteran athletes makes us honored to continue to show our support for our veterans at the National Veterans Wheelchair Games.”

Invacare associates kicked everything off on Sunday, when they met with the athletes at the airport to ensure the athlete’s wheelchairs were unloaded and reassembled correctly. To ensure athletes are able to focus entirely on the competition, Invacare is offering wheelchair repair and tune ups throughout the entire event. They will also replace anything that has been knocked out of place during travel, warm up or competition.

During the NVWG’s expo day, Invacare will show off several innovative products, including Invacare Top End sports and recreation products, the new kuschall custom manual wheelchair, and Invacare power wheelchairs. Live updates, videos and photos for the NVWG will be made available through the Twitter account @_TopEnd and through Top End’s Facebook page. More details can be found here.
