JLG Industries Inc. is a publicly traded company that designs, manufactures and markets access equipment. The company’s headquarters is located in McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania. On September 28, 2017, the Ohio Office of Workforce Development received a WARN notification from JLG Industries.

According to that notification, JLG will soon be closing its manufacturing plant at 600 East Chestnut Street in Orrville, Ohio. The plant’s closure was originally announced in January of 2017. Another WARN notice was delivered to affected employees on July 20, 2017. The company’s letter confirms that it now has a better understanding of the closure and its impending impact. It has reissued the WARN notice to make everyone aware of the outlook of the employee separations.

JLG expects layoffs in the manufacturing operations to begin on September 30, 2017 and to be completed by December 29, 2017. In total, 140 workers will be laid off between September 30 and October 13. An additional 17 layoffs will take place after that point. The company expects the last day for employees assigned to the Manufacturing Operations to take place between December 22 and December 31, 2017.

The company has no plans to resume any operations at the location and the layoffs are expected to be permanent. In total, 157 workers will lose their jobs at JLG’s Manufacturing Operations in Orrville. None of the workers are represented by a union nor do they have bumping rights.
