Knappco Inc. is owned by OPW. OPW, which is a Dover company, is a global leading in fluid handling, management, monitoring and control solutions. According to OPW’s website, the company has more than 3,850 employees with manufacturing operations in North America, China, Brazil, Europe, and India. This week, it was announced that Knappco Inc. had submitted a WARN notification with the Missouri Department of Economic Development.

According to that WARN notice, Knappco will soon close its production operation in Riverside, Missouri. The facility is located at 4304 North Mattox Road. Sales, Engineering and Administration staff will be retained and moved to a new location in the Kansas City, Missouri area. The closure is expected to be permanent.

Knappco anticipates that the closure will take place in stages with the first beginning on February 12, 2018. The closure is expected to be completed on or around November 31, 2018. The first job losses will likely occur on or around July 1, 2018. In total, Knappco expects 58 employees to be terminated.

The impacted employees do not have bumping rights. However, there are may opportunities to relocate to the company’s Hamilton, Ohio facility. A limited number of positions may also be available at other operations throughout the United States. The full WARN notification can be found here.
