Kopper Glo Mining LLC And Aparium Hospitality Group LLC Announce Layoffs In Tennessee

Kopper Glo Mining LLC is a coal mining company. The coal industry has experienced a downturn as of late and this has been evident by the recent layoffs. On November 20, 2017, Kopper Glo Mining LLC submitted a WARN notification with the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development. According to the WARN notice, the company will soon be carrying out permanently employee separations effective January 8, 2018.

The company is located at 1197 Rock Creek Ridge Road in Clairfield, Tennessee. The impacted workers are not represented by a collective bargaining agreement. Therefore, they will not have bumping rights. Kopper Glo Mining’s WARN notification can be found here.

Aparium Hospitality Group submitted a WARN notification with the State of Tennessee this week as well. Aparium Hospitality Group, which is doing business as Madison Hotel Memphis, announced that it would be permanently closing its Memphis business effective on January 15, 2018.

The impacted motel is located at 79 Madison Avenue Memphis, Tennessee. In total, Aparium believes that 33 workers will be impacted by the impending layoffs. None of the workers are represented by a collective bargaining agreement. The full WARN notification from Aparium can be found here.
