Luxottica Group is the largest eyewear company in the world. The company is based out of Milan, Italy. It designs and manufactures several eyewear brands, including LensCrafters, Sunglass Hut, Sears Optical, Target Optical, Ray-Ban, Oakley, and others. It is estimated that Luxottica Retail has roughly 8,000 retail locations. The retail headquarters is based in Mason, Ohio.

On October 26, 2017, Luxottica submitted a WARN notification to the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development. According to the WARN notification, Luxottica Retail North America will carry out a permanent layoff effective December 31, 2017. The impacted workers are located at the company’s Memphis, Tennessee facility at 5780 East Shelby Drive.
