On Thursday, August 31, 2017, Macy’s Inc. (NYSE: M) announced that it had expanded its same-day delivery service to 15 additional markets. Products purchased at Macys.com, Bloomingdales.com or through the associated mobile apps are eligible for same-day delivery in 33 markets. When shopping online, consumers can now choose the “same-day delivery” option at checkout.
This will allow them to schedule the delivery of any item currently available at their local store. After the transaction has been finalized, the customer will receive a picture of their driver, an estimated time of arrival, and GPS order tracking. The combination allows the customer to visually track their delivery from the store to their doorstep.
In order to receive same-day delivery, customers must place their orders before 1 PM local time Monday through Saturday. To receive same-day delivery on Sunday, orders need to be placed before 11 AM. The charge for same-day delivery is just $8 for all orders that meet Macy’s $99 threshold or Bloomingdale’s $150 threshold.
Members of the Bloomingdale’s Loyalist program will always receive same-day delivery for $8. Deliveries are handled by Deliv. Macy’s initially introduced their same-day delivery service in 2014. Since that time, it has continued to expand the service throughout the nation. With the latest expansion, Macy’s same-day delivery is now available in 33 markets. Additional details can be found here.
