On Wednesday, United States Attorney Duane A. Evans announced that a Metairie, Louisiana man had been sentenced to prison for destruction of government property. 38-year-old Bobby Joseph Hammond previously pleaded guilty to a single count Bill of Information. Hammond was ultimately sentenced to 9 months in prison and two years of supervised release.

Hammond has also been ordered to pay $1,330.69 in restitution. Court documents explain that on March 4, 2017, Hammond drove up to the south side of the Social Security Administration Field Office at 1616 Joe Yenni Boulevard in Kenner. Then, Hammond exited his vehicle and hurled a rock through the second-floor window.

In total, it was alleged that Hammond’s actions caused $1,330.69 in damages. Again, Bobby Joseph Hammond has been sentenced to 9 months imprisonment and 2 years of supervised release.
