Nordstrom is an American chain of department stores based out of Seattle, Washington. The company was founded in 1901. The company’s common stock is sold under the ticker JWN on the New York Stock Exchange. On February 1, 2018, Nordstrom submitted a WARN notification with the Oregon Office of Workforce Investments. According to that letter, the company will soon be shutting down its Salem Center Store.

The store is located at 420 Center Street NE in Salem. The closure is expected to take place on April 6, 2018. The closure will be permanent and the entire store will close. The letter explains that some employees will be offered the opportunity to transfer to other Nordstrom locations. The company has not yet determined who will be offered these opportunities. All other employees are expected to be separated from their employment on April 6, 2018.
