On September 19, 2017, Ohio’s Department of Job and Family Services received a WARN notification from Peoples Bank. According to that notification, Peoples Bank National Mortgage Business Division will soon be laying off workers at the company’s Westerville office. The closure is in relation with the upcoming merger between Peoples Inc. and National Bank Holdings Corporation. As a part of the merger, Peoples Bank will permanently close its national mortgage business division.

The division’s office in Ohio is located at 501 West Schrock Road Suite 410 in Westerville. Workers assigned at this facility will lose their jobs on October 31, 2017 or within 14 days thereafter. The exact timing for the full corporate reorganization is not known. However, the company expects that 31 workers will be impacted by the layoffs. 15 of the workers are mortgage bankers.

Earlier this month, BWAY Corporation and Data Cooling Technology LLC also announced layoffs in the state of Ohio. Peoples Bank’s letter to the Ohio Office of Workforce Development can be found here.
