On Tuesday, Sprint (NYSE: S) announced that it would be expanding its presence and investment across the Southwestern portion of the United States. The company intends to add 44 new retail locations across Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, Utah and West Texas by the end of 2017. Sprint believes that the new stores will create more than 300 new jobs. The jobs will include a combination of operations, retail, and technical positions.

At this point in time, Sprint operates nearly 400 branded retail locations throughout the Southwest with more than 2,250 employees. The company has also taken steps to improve the performance of their network in these areas. In Arizona, the company recently made capacity enhancements to the network in Phoenix and Tucson to deliver LTE Plus speeds to customers in the area. At the CONCACAF Gold Cup game in Phoenix, Sprint provided attendees with average download speeds of 13.5 Mbps.

Speeds have also been increased by 30 percent in Las Vegas. By the end of 2017 and into the early part of 2018, Sprint plans to bring upgrades to many casinos along the Strip. Sprint has also gained a lot of recognition for the Unlimited Freedom plan. Those interested in obtaining a job with Sprint are encouraged to visit www.sprint.com/jobs.
