Symantec is an American software company based out of Mountain View, California. The Fortune 500 company produces software for security, storage, backup and availability. The company has been in business for 35 years. On November 29, 2017, Symantec submitted a WARN notification with Oregon’s Rapid Response Coordinator. According to that notice, the company will soon be laying off workers at its Springfield, Oregon location.

The impacted employees work at the company’s 555 International Way facility in Springfield. In total, Symantec expects to lay off 66 workers. The impacted employees were notified in November and they’re expected to be terminated on January 17, 2018. The layoffs are expected to be permanent and none of the workers are represented by a union. None of the workers have bumping rights.
