TomTom recently announced a new partnership with the European fitness chain, Basic-Fit. Thanks to the collaboration, TomTom Sports will deliver a jolt of energy to their ‘Get Going’ campaign, which encourages people to live a more active lifestyle. Both companies place strong emphasis on good nutrition and an active lifestyle for remaining healthy and fit. The partnership is a perfect fit. To provide consumers with more encouragement, Basic-Fit will equip their employees and personal trainers with sport wearables produced by TomTom. The collaboration will begin as a pilot in Belgium and the Netherlands. Basic-Fit owns 419 fitness clubs in 5 countries and has a member base of more than 1.2 million individuals.
By equipping their personal trainers with TomTom wearables, Basic-Fit believes their employees and trainers will be able to provide customers with better and more accurate advice. Through the cooperative effort, Basic-Fit members will now have the opportunity to gain additional insight into their health and performance, while reaching their goals most rapidly, with assistance from the brand-new TomTom Sports app. Vice President of Sales & Marketing Benelux at TomTom, Lars Guns, believes the cooperation can “help over a million members achieve a healthy lifestyle.”
Innovation & Corporate Development Director with Basic-Fit, Marcel Boots, insists “The sports wearables from TomTom can help our personal trainers provide members with broader advice around the areas of fitness and health”. TomTom, which was founded in 1991, is headquartered in Amsterdam. The company currently employs around 4,700 individuals.
