On May the 10th, TrueCar (NASDAQ: TRUE) confirmed a new partnership with eBay Motors. The partnership will attempt to provide eBay shoppers with an innovative car buy service. The program, which is effectively powered by TrueCar, will give eBay car shoppers crucial pricing information from TrueCar Dealers. eBay shoppers will have the opportunity to engage with Certified Dealers from TrueCar for the purpose of purchasing a new automobile.
eBay’s Vice President of North America Merchandising, Jay Hanson, explains, “Together with TrueCar, eBay shoppers will gain deep insights on new car prices, further enhancing their automotive shopping journey”. He also pointed out that eBay has taken steps to improve their technology and design to provide users with a more personalized and convenient car shopping experience.
TrueCar’s car buying program will give eBay Motor Shoppers another way to quickly compare prices for new automobiles. When combined with the new eBay Motors homepage, shoppers will now be able to take advantage of enhanced search and browsing to find the new vehicles that they desire. Users will be able to link directly to the TrueCar experience through the newly improved eBay Motors website.
Chip Perry, TrueCar’s President and Chief Executive Officer, believes the partnership will greatly improve the car buying experience for eBay users. He stated, “Through our partnership, eBay conveniently gives buyers access to TrueCar’s upfront pricing information and Certified Dealer network.” Today, TrueCar has a nationwide network consisting of more than 14,000 Certified Dealers.
