Younkers is a department store chain that was founded in 1856. In 2018, the company owned and operated 49 stores. The store sells clothing, footwear, bedding, furniture and other items. This week, Younkers submitted two WARN notifications with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development. According to the first WARN notice, Bon Ton Stores Inc. had given notice of a mass layoff due to a store closing. The company will close the store located in Wausau, Wisconsin. The facility is located at 300 Forest Street.

As a result of the impending closure, the company expects 63 individuals to lose their jobs. The company believes that the separations will occur roughly 8 weeks from the date of the letter, but no sooner than April 1, 2018. None of the impacted employees have bumping rights.
