On August the 14th, Macquarie Infrastructure Corporation’s (NYSE: MIC) subsidiary, Atlantic Aviation, announced that it had entered into an agreement to purchase the assets of the Orion Jet Center located at the Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport. Terms of the agreement have yet to be disclosed. The acquisition will increase Atlantic Aviation’s fixed based operations to 71 locations throughout the United States. The Orion Jet Center features more than 200,000 square feet of hangar space, making it the largest capable of handling the Global Express sized aircraft.
The facility also offers 36,000 square feet of office and maintenance space. The executive terminal at Orion has recently been renovated. It includes three conference rooms, showers, crew lounge, and sleeping rooms. It also includes a VIP lounge. Atlantic Aviation expects the transaction to close sometime in the 3rd quarter of 2017. Atlantic Aviation is based out of Plano, Texas. The company specializes in providing aviation and concierge services for aircraft owners and pilots.
