Smart homeowners can now chat with their August Doorbell Cam via Amazon’s Alexa. On June the 22nd, the leading provider of smart locks, August Home Inc., confirmed that their August Doorbell Cam was now compatible with the Amazon Alexa. Users can say the phrase, “Alexa show me the front door,” to view a live video stream from their doorbell camera on any Amazon Echo Show.

CEO of August Home, Jason Johnson, believes the new feature will be a great delight to customers and will add value to the products they already own. He went on to say, “With the expansion of our Amazon Alexa skill, we are making it easier for our customers to control their Doorbell Cam. Now they can display video of visitors outside their door using their voice.”

When hanging out with family members and relaxing on the couch, consumers can simply say the phrase to see who is at their door. There is no longer a need to reach for a smart device or to get off of the couch. Those that wish to take advantage of the new Alexa skill can do so by enabling it within the Alexa app and linking to their current account. The ability to view video on Echo Show is an enhancement of the August Smart Home Skill.
