This week, the Ohio Department of Workforce Development received a WARN notification from Bobby Layman Chevrolet. The letter explains that the company, which is located at 3900 West Broad Street in Columbus, Ohio, will soon be closing. The company has the intention of selling its business to Feldman GM Holdings LLC. The date of the closing of the sale has not yet been finalized, but it could occur sometimes during the Spring of this year.
Since the company is selling its assets, it will be technically ending the employment of everyone on its last day of operation. The workers may be employed by Feldman GM Holdings after the company closes and sells its assets to the buyer. The letter explains that the company’s employees will be laid off due to the closing of the company and that layoff will be permanent, if the sale is finalized.
There are no bumping rights. The company hopes that employees will not experience a loss of employment but admits that is out of its control. The total number of potentially impacted employees is 103. The full WARN notification can be found here.
