The Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre was forced to lay off hundreds of employees as they had to suspend operations because of Covid-19.
According to WinkNews the theater had to fire all of its food service employees but expects to rehire them in approximately three weeks.
Owner and executive producer Will Prather is doing everything he can to provide as much help as possible to employees who have lost their jobs through the Small Business Association and has suggested they apply for unemployment benefits.
Pather said he is grateful for the support: “We went through the nine-eleven. We survived the big recession, which was a really challenging two years,” Prather told WINK News. “Now, we have the coronavirus. This has so far proven to be the most daunting challenge we’ve faced. But we’re all in this together.
They say the executive staff has accepted a reduction in salary and hopes the theater will reopen its doors next April.
