This week, Caterpillar Inc. submitted a WARN notification with the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development. The letter explains that the company will soon be closing its facility in Dyersburg, Tennessee. The facility is expected to close on October 1, 2018. The company anticipates that the closure will be permanent. The impacted facility is located at 2000 Hoff Road in Dyersburg.
As a result of the impending closure, 85 workers will be separated from their employment. The workers are not represented by a collective bargaining agreement. Therefore, bumping rights do not exist. The full WARN notification has been made available here.
