This month, Charter Communications filed two WARN notifications with the Michigan Office of Workforce Development. The first letter explains that the company will be ceasing operation of its residential sales support function at its Walker, Michigan facility. The facility is located at 3355 Walker Avenue. While the residential sales support function will cease, the entire facility will not be closed. As a result, the company anticipates that 51 employees at that facility will be terminated. Those employees were scheduled to be laid off on August 9, 2018.
Another letter explains that the company will be ceasing operation of its customer service department at its facility in Livonia, Michigan. The facility is located at 14525 Farmington Road. Again, the entire facility will not be closing. The company expects 60 employees at that facility to lose their jobs. The employee terminations are expected to take place on August 28, 2018. None of the impacted employees are represented by a union. No bumping rights exist.
The layoffs are expected to be permanent. The full WARN notification has been made available here.
