On November 5, 2018, the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services received a WARN notification from Citizens Bank. The letter explains that the company intends to carry out a reduction in force at its Cincinnati, Ohio facility. The entire facility is expected to close. The bank is located at 8600 Governors Hill Drive in Cincinnati. As a result, approximately 55 employees will be laid off. The layoffs are expected to take place on January 4, 2019.
The layoffs will exceed six months and are expected to be permanent. Employees are not represented by a union. Therefore, bumping rights will not be available to the impacted workers. The letter explains that the company was notified that its management of Mercy HealthPlex, Anderson, Fairfield, Queen City and Downtown will be terminated at midnight on January 8, 2019.
The management of these health clubs will be assumed by Power Wellness. The WARN notice confirms that the termination of the company’s management contract will most likely result in the permanent layoff of all employees at the following locations.
