This week, E*TRADE Financial Corporation (NASDAQ: ETFC) announced it had added 21 brand-new exchange-traded funds to its commission-free lineup. These funds have been added since March the 1st of this year. In total, E*TRADE now offers 149 non-proprietary, commission-free ETFs, making it one of the largest offerings in the industry.

Investors using the E*TRADE platform will find new ETFs from ACSI Funds, ArrowShares, Janus Henderson, J.P. Morgan Asset Management, Legg Mason, ETF Securities, and OppenheimerFunds. The addition gives E*TRADE customers the ability to further diversify their portfolio without paying extra commissions.

E*TRADE customers have the ability to buy and sell ETFs through the company’s Securities Commission-Free ETF Program, without paying brokerage commissions. However, E*TRADE may impose a short-term trading fee on sales of certain ETFs that have been held less than 30 days in an attempt to discourage short-term trading. Additional information about E*TRADE’s commission-free ETFs can be found here.
