The former Callaway County Collector was sentenced to prison on March 4, 2019 for embezzling nearly $300,000 from Callaway County taxpayers. 60-year-old Pamela J. Oestreich of Fulton, Missouri was sentenced to two years and six months in federal prison without parole. Oestreich was taken into custody after the sentencing hearing.

She has also been ordered to pay $379,588 in restitution to the county. If unable to pay the full restitution within 30 days, the government recommends that the court should order Oestreich to turn over her half-interest in the sale of her home, to pay 25% of her monthly pension benefits, and to liquidate one of the cars she owns with her husband. Oestreich owns her house outright with her husband.

Oestreich pleaded guilty to stealing from an organization that receives federal funds on September 24, 2018. She was elected to the position of Callaway County Collector in November of 2002. She admitted to disbursing taxpayer funds for her personal use on 103 occasions starting in September of 2015. When confronted by the Callaway County Sheriff and FBI agents on March 15, 2018, Oestreich resigned from her office.
