On Thursday, May 10, 2018, it was announced that 39-year-old Scott Breaux of Marrero, Louisiana had been charged for bank theft. The indictment alleges that from roughly November of 2016 to July of 2017, the defendant stole approximately $122,000 while being employed as Branch Manager at the ASI Federal Credit Union.
The defendant had been employed with ASI since 2011. During his time with the company, he worked at the Harahan, Westwego and uptown branches. In 2014, he was given the position of Branch Manager at the Westwego branch. In February of 2017, Breaux was transferred to the uptown branch and continued working as the Branch Manager.
He was terminated in July 2017. At this point in time, the defendant is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. If convicted, the defendant will face a sentence of 10 years in prison. Further details have been made available here.
