This week, it was announced that 40-year-old Kyle Wilhelm had pleaded guilty to obtaining controlled substances by fraud. The former pharmacist is now scheduled to be sentenced on October 2, 2019. According to the plea agreement, Wilhelm utilized his position as a hospital pharmacy manager to fill prescriptions for fake patients.
When doing so, he used false birth dates and addresses. He also used a medical doctor’s DEA registration number without authorization to do so. In total, Wilhelm obtained more than 200,000 dosage units of controlled substances. He obtained acetaminophen, oxycodone, hydrocodone, and hydromorphone.
At the time of sentencing, Wilhelm will face a maximum sentence of eight years in prison. Additional details can be found here.
