General Motors Plans For May Layoffs In West Chester Ohio

On March 4, 2019, GM submitted a WARN notice with the Ohio Office of Workforce Department. The letter explains that GM is providing notice of layoffs that will impact employees at its Customer Care and Aftersales West Chester Processing Center.

The center is located at 9287 Meridian Way in West Chester, Ohio. As a result of the action, the facility will close on May 31, 2019. The layoffs will begin on May 31, 2019. In total, it is anticipated that 101 hourly and salaried employees will be impacted. Roughly 94 of the workers are represented by the U.A.W. International Union and the U.A.W. Local Union 696.
