Hampton, Virginia Man Sentenced To Prison For Stealing Checks For Curbside Mailboxes

On Friday, January 26, 2018, it was announced that a Hampton, Virginia man had been sentenced to prison for stealing checks from curbside mailboxes. 31-year-old Timothy Moody was sentenced to 62 months in prison. Court documents show that Moody stole USAA checks from curbside mailboxes. Then, he used the information to make counterfeit Bank of America Checks.

Those checks were then used as Lowe’s, Home Depot and Walmart to purchase merchandise. The merchandise was later returned at different stores for cash.
