On February 13, 2019, NextEra Energy Partners (NYSE: NEP) and Howard Energy Partners announced that they had entered into a joint venture with the intention of developing additional natural gas transportation opportunities in the Eagle Ford shale region of South Texas.
The joint venture aims to market capacity on HEP’s Eagle Ford Gathering system (EFG) and NextEra’s Eagle Ford Midstream system (EFM). It will also evaluate additional pipeline opportunities in areas of mutual interest, such as Webb, Live Oak, Jim Wells, Dimmit, La Salle counties, and more.
HEP’s existing EFG system is located in Webb County. It is composed of roughly 215 miles of lean gas gathering pipeline with approximately one billion cubic feet per day of throughput capacity. NextEra’s existing EFM system is an approximately 150-mile, 30-inch and 16-inch lean gas transportation pipeline starting in La Salle County. The pipeline spans portions of McMullen, Duval, Jim Wells, and Nueces counties.
The EFM pipeline terminates at the Agua Dulce hub in Nueces County. Additional details are available here.
