This week, ICONEX submitted a WARN notification with the Ohio Department of Workforce Development. The letter warns the department that the company will be carrying out a permanent closure of its Chester, Ohio facility. The plant is located at 9220 Glades Drive in West Chester Township, Ohio. The exact date of the closure is not known. The letter explains that the closure will most likely take place sometime on or before April 28, 2019.
All positions except for two off-site sales positions will be eliminated. The company anticipates that the plant’s closing will lead to the laying off of 67 individuals. The layoffs are expected to begin on March 3, 2019. 43 workers will be laid off at this time. Another 22 will be laid off on or around March 29, 2019. The letter explains that the rest of the layoffs will occur gradually during the month of April until the plant is completely closed. The employees are not part of a union. Also this month, New Story of Ohio submitted a WARN notification with the Ohio Office of Workforce Development. The letter explains that New Story of Ohio will close operations no later than March 3, 2019. As a result, the company will lay off all employees at its only facility. That facility is located at 3141 Medina Avenue in Columbus, Ohio. The closure and layoffs are expected to be permanent. In total, New Story expects the layoff to impact 53 individuals.
