Indiana Sees Layoffs From Multiple Companies This Month

During the month of August, the Indiana Department of Workforce Development received WARN notifications from several companies. On August 2, 2018, it received a WARN notice from West Pharmaceutical Services Inc. The Pennsylvania company explained that it would be closing its Frankfort, Indiana contract manufacturing facility. As a result, virtually all employees employed at the plant will be terminated. The facility is located at 2810 West State Road 28 in Frankfort.

The closing is expected to take place on October 1, 2018. Employees do not have access to bumping rights and all terminations are expected to be permanent. In total, it is believed that 54 workers will be impacted. The full WARN notice can be found here. On August 2, 2018, Charter Communications submitted a WARN notice to the Indian Department of Workforce Development. The letter explains that the company intends to cease operations of its Customer Service Department at its Indianapolis facility.

The facility is located at 3030 Roosevelt Avenue. The entire facility will not be closed. Nevertheless, 84 workers are expected to be terminated. Those terminations are scheduled to begin on August 28, 2018. The full WARN notification from Charter Communication is available here. Finally, Andy Frain Services submitted a WARN notice with the Indiana Department of Workforce Development on August 25, 2018.

The letter explains that the company will be permanently closing its security operations at a FedEx facility on September 30, 2018. The FedEx facility, which is known as the Indy Hub, is located at 6648 South Perimeter Road in Indianapolis. The closure is the direct result of the termination of the company’s contract with FedEx for security services. The company expects the terminations to begin during the week prior to September 30, 2018.
