This week, KGP Telecommunications LLC filed a WARN notice with the Indiana Department of Workforce Development in accordance with the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act. The letter explains that the company will soon carry out a permanent reduction in force at its Warsaw, Indiana facilities. Workers are two facilities will be impacted. They include the following two locations.

  • 2000 West Winona Avenue Warsaw, Indiana
  • 3454 North Detroit Street Warsaw, Indiana

Most of the impacted employees work at the Detroit Street facility. The letter explains that a sudden decrease in business from Assemble Wire Test has encouraged the company to reduce its workforce by as many as 300 employees. The company received the initial indication of the business decrease on February 5, 2019. It monitored the decrease closely to determine if it was a temporary decline.

The decrease has persisted and this is the cause of the upcoming layoffs. The extent of the business decline is unknown. Therefore, the company cannot confirm whether or not the Detroit Street location will close. However, KGP believes the business decline will impact enough employees to result in a mass layoff. None of the workers are represented by a union. The layoff is expected to occur on April 17, 2019 or within the 2-week period immediately following this date.
