Sears and Kmart have announced many store closures over the past year. This month, Ohio’s Office of Workforce Development received a WARN notification from Kmart. According to the company’s WARN notification, a change in business circumstances has led to the decision to permanently close Kmart Store #03589.
The impacted store is located at 14901 Lorain Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio. The store is expected to be permanently closed in January of 2018. Employee separations will occur on January 21, 2018 or within the 14-day period commencing on that date.
Kmart believes that the closure will result in the permanent separation of roughly 69 employees. None of the workers are represented by a union and none have bumping rights. The full WARN notice can be accessed here.
