Macy’s was founded 159 years ago. The company, which is headquartered out of Cincinnati, Ohio, was said to have 669 locations in 2017. On January 5, 2018, Macy’s submitted a WARN notification with the Ohio Office of Workforce Development. According to that letter, Macy’s will soon be carrying out a plant closing at its Fountain Place Store. The store is located at 505 Vine Street in Cincinnati, Ohio. The entire plant is expected to close.
All job eliminations are expected to be permanent. Separations will occur between March 18, 2018 and March 31, 2018. The impacted employees do not have bumping rights and they’re not represented by any labor organization. In total, Macy’s anticipates that 104 workers will be affected by the closure.
