On January 6, 2020, Macy’s (NYSE: M) submitted a WARN with the Ohio Office of Workforce Development. The letter explains that the company will be closing the Macy’s Northgate Mall Store which is located at 9531 Colerain Avenue in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The entire plant will be closing. Job eliminations are expected to be permanent and they’re scheduled to take place between March 7, 2020 and March 20, 2020. Impacted employees do not have access to bumping rights. They’re not represented by any labor organization.
Each employee will receive a description of their benefits as well as information about possible opportunities to transfer to other Macy’s locations. In total, it is believed that 139 workers will be impacted by the closure.
