Nestle USA Inc. has submitted a WARN notice with the Indiana Department of Workforce Development. The letter explains that Nestle USA and Nestle Dreyer’s Ice Cream Company will be reorganizing the Nestle Sales and Supply Chain Frozen DSD operation. It will be exiting its company-owned direct-store-delivery network for its pizza and ice cream business. As a result, the company will be laying off workers.
The layoffs are expected to be permanent. Employees in the sales and supply chain teams will be impacted.
The decision will also result in the closure of 8 company-owned frozen distribution centers and the company’s frozen inventory transfer points.
In a statement, Steve Presley, Chairman and CEO of Nestle USA, said “These employees have worked incredibly hard to serve our customers. Treating them with respect through this process is a trop priority for us, and we are committed to doing all we can to provide them information, resources and support.”
