On January the 4th, NewsON announced the launch of its brand-new website, which is aimed towards cord cutter. The website, WatchNewsON.com, will provide consumers with access to news content from their web browser, smartphone, tablet, and smart television. In total, the service will offer news broadcast from 175 stations throughout the United States. Once consumers log onto the WatchNewsON.com website, they’ll be able to browse available stations based on a city, zip code or station name.

The first-of-its-kind service consists of 175 stations in 113 markets and covers 84% of the American population. It also includes 48 of the top 50 markets. NewsON makes it possible for consumers to gain convenient access to live and on-demand newscasts through a variety of devices, including mobile, television and desktop. The service is free, but is ad-supported. Therefore, users should expected to see ads in between each news segment. Users will also be able to search the network by utilizing an interactive map.

NewsON is owned by a handful of broadcasting partners, including Capitol Broadcasting, Cox Media Group, Hubbard Broadcasting, Media General, Raycom Media, Sinclair Broadcast Group, ABC Owned Television Station Group, and Heart Television. NewsON has managed to emerge as a finalist for the 2017 CES Mobile Apps Showdown award. The associated application is available through Amazon, Roku, Apple’s App Store, and Google Play. Those interested in watching content through their browser can do so by heading over to watchnewson.com.
