Northside Regional Medical Center has submitted a WARN notification with the Ohio Office of Workforce Development. The letter explains that the Northside Regional Medical Center will be permanently closing in the near future. The facility is located at 500 Gypsy Lane in Youngstown, Ohio. Employees are expected to continue working until October 14, 2018. At that time, the employees’ employment will be terminated.

It is also anticipated that employees will not be required to report to work after September 20, 2018. The entire facility is expected to close permanently on September 20, 2018 or earlier. All employees working at the Northside Regional Medical Center will be laid off in conjunction with the closure. Some functions that are not a part of the medical center but are located on the property will continue to operate.

Some of the impacted workers are represented by the Ohio Nurses Association. Other employees are represented by SEIU District 1199 WV/KY/OH and one is represented by Ohio Council 8 and Local 2804 of American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees. The closure of the Northside Regional Medical facility is subject to the fulfillment of all collective bargaining obligations that may exist.
