This week, it was announced that an Ohio man had pleaded guilty to defrauding a Kentucky bank, 17 individuals, and businesses in Kentucky, Ohio, Wisconsin, and West Virginia. 47-year-old Anthony McQuaid pleaded guilty to a single count of bank fraud and a single count of wire fraud.
He admitted to executing a scheme to defraud Town Square Bank to obtain a loan for $1 million in 2014. The bank is located in Ashland, Kentucky. McQuaid also admitted to carrying out a scheme to defraud Auto Now Acceptance Co. of Portsmouth, Ohio.
Between November 2014 and June 2018, McQuaid defrauded 17 other individuals across several states, including Kentucky, Ohio, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. In total, he admitted that this schemes caused a total loss of at least $4.6 million. McQuaid is now scheduled to be sentenced on November 12, 2019. Additional details can be found here.
