On Demand Convenience Store goPuff Launches In Ohio

On Wednesday, January the 18th, goPuff launched in Columbus, Ohio. The innovative on-demand convenience store gives students the ability to purchase a wide variety of items directly through a mobile application or website. At this point in time, goPuff users can choose from more than 3,000 items. Once the item has been ordered, consumers can expect their items to be delivered in approximately 30 minutes. The startup company, goPuff, was founded in 2013. The company was created by two graduates of Drexel University, Yakir Gola and Rafael Ilishayev.

Users of the goPuff marketplace can have their items delivered from 12 PM to 4:30 AM each day. To celebrate the move to Ohio State, all orders will arrive with a free pint of Ben & Jerry’s Half-Baked ice cream. The promotion will run until next Wednesday. goPuff is slightly different from similar services, because the company has warehouses in every city. This gives them the ability to make faster deliveries. They are also not required to rely on traditional retail stores.

When first launched to the public, the start only old 50 basic product. Since then, the company has expanded their product offering and is now a full-fledged on-demand convenience store. In some locations, goPuff even offers alcohol. The delivery rate of just $1.95 makes goPuff very enticing for college students. For orders over $49, the deliver fee is waived. At this point in time, goPuff operates in 18 cities. The company offers alcohol in more than half of these cities.

The duo intends to expand the service to 35 more cities by the end of the year. The company currently services areas, such as Boston, Pittsburgh, Tucson, Chicago, Seattle, Denver, Washington DC, and more.
