On Thursday, United States Attorney for The Western District of Wisconsin, Scott C. Blader, announced that an Onalaska, Wisconsin woman had been sentenced to three years’ probation. 57-year-old Linda C. Germann pleaded guilty to stealing money from a federally insured credit union on September 21, 2017. Beginning in October of 2013, the defendant stole $14,813.19 from Altra Federal Credit Union.
The defendant stole the money using several methods. She misappropriated stale dated cashier’s checks, created and reimbursed false credit card losses and more. During her sentencing hearing, United States District Judge William Conley noted that the defendant stole the money, due to the debts she incurred from a gambling problem.
The charges were the results of an investigation carried out by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Again, Linda C. Germann of Onalaska, Wisconsin was sentenced to three years of probation. Additional details can be found here.
