Owner Of Brendle Climbing Systems LLC Gets Prison Time For Failing To File Income Tax Returns

This week, it was announced that a Cheyenne, Wyoming man had been sentenced to prison. Court documents from 2008 to 2012 show that Douglas E. Brendle was the owner and operator of Brendle Climbing Systems LLC. The company sold exercise equipment.

In January of 2013, Brendle sold his rights to the equipment to investors. During the period of 2013 to 2014, Brendle received nearly $1.5 million in payments. Nevertheless, Brendle failed to file individual tax returns and did not pay income taxes in 2013 or 2014.

Ultimately, Brendle’s actions caused the Internal Revenue Service to lose $404,501 in taxes. During the same time period, Brendle fraudulently obtained health care benefits for himself and his family from Wyoming Medicaid. Further details can be found here.
